Joshua McCaig is a Catholic husband, father, leader, and entrepreneur. Joshua is a shareholder at an AMLAW 100 law firm, where his legal practice focuses on commercial litigation, health care, real estate, intellectual property, and he serves as outside general counsel for various organizations and religious entities. Joshua is also the owner of McCaig Consulting Group, whose mission is to assist organizations and individuals in bringing concepts and projects to reality through strategic planning, project development, and implementation support.
Joshua is the Founding President of the Catholic Bar Association, a lay organization for Catholic legal professionals, and currently serves as the International Ambassador for Goodwill. In 2024, Joshua was appointed by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops as the United States Delegate to the 2025 Jubilee of Justice in Rome. In October of 2017, Joshua made national news speaking at the U.S. Senate against the anti-Catholic questioning of law professor Amy Coney Barrett during her confirmation hearing to the Court of Appeals for the 7th Circuit.
Joshua has appeared on C-Span, has been quoted by the Washington Times, Fox News, The Daily Signal and U.S. News, and has contributed opinion commentary to The Hill and The Federalist. He is a frequent guest on media shows including EWTN’s Morning Glory, Kresta in the Afternoon, Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo, The Drew Mariani Show, A Closer Look with Sheila Liaugminas and Beyond the Median.
Joshua is a director and co-founder of the Catholic Health Care Leadership Alliance, an organization focused on protecting and advancing the healing ministry of Jesus Christ through education, advocacy, and evangelization within Catholic Health Care.
Joshua was honored to be a guest panelist at the 2017 Convocation of Catholic Leaders on the topic of religion and politics, and speaks internationally on conscience rights, freedom of religion, evangelization through work, and marriage and family issues.
He is recognized in his profession by his peers with an AV rating from Martindale Hubbell, selection as a SuperLawyer in Missouri & Kansas, and he received the prestigious Up and Coming Lawyer award from the Missouri Lawyers Weekly. Joshua is a recipient of the St. Thomas More Award from the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Kansas City, the Alumni Citizenship award from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and was the inaugural recipient of the Ave Maria School of Law Alumni Lifetime Achievement Award. Joshua sits on the boards of various national and international organizations.
Joshua is a graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville (BA/MBA), Ithaca College (MS), and is a member of the inaugural class of Ave Maria School of Law (JD). Joshua is certified in health care ethics through the National Catholic Bioethics Center. He resides in Kansas City, Missouri with his wife, Cathy, and their four children.
