
Emily Johnson is an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in Lake County, Ohio, where she handles adult felony-level offenses and juvenile sex offenses; her primary focus is prosecuting those engaged in viewing and/or disseminating child sexual abuse material.
Emily earned her B.A. summa cum laude in Politics with a minor in Islamic World Studies and a Certificate in Intelligence Studies from The Catholic University of America in 2019. She spent three years in the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a Tactical Specialist assigned to the Counterterrorism Division, International Terrorism Operations Section. There, she worked on high profile investigations of ISIS and Al Qaeda terrorists with a mission of preventing attacks against the homeland.
She earned her J.D. magna cum laude with a Criminal Litigation Concentration from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law in 2024. While in law school her focus was constitutional litigation, serving as a law clerk with the New Civil Liberties Alliance, the United States Senate Committee on the Judiciary, the Goldwater Institute, and Americans United for Life. She is an Ex Corde Fellow through the Center for Law and the Human Person and Center for the Constitution and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition at The Catholic University of America.
Emily lives in Ohio with her border collie, Dutch, and enjoys reading, writing, tennis, and finding the best local coffee shops.
