Deion Kathawa

Mr. Deion A. Kathawa is an associate at Butzel, one of Michigan's oldest law firms. Previously, he clerked for Judge William C. Griesbach of the United States District for the Eastern District of Wisconsin, Green Bay Division, and before that for Justice Brian K. Zahra of the Michigan Supreme Court.

He earned a B.A., cum laude, in philosophy and political science from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and a J.D., cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School. For two years, Mr. Kathawa served on the executive board of the Notre Dame Law School Federalist Society. And as a second year law student, his essay, “Ambition Can Still Be Made to Counteract Ambition—Just Not in the Way Madison Envisioned,” won first place in the Federalist Society’s second annual Article I Initiative Writing Contest.
