Napa Legal Executive Director Appointed Director of the White House Religious Liberty Commission
By Napa Legal Staff
Last month, Mary Margaret Bush (former Napa Legal Vice President and Executive Director) was sworn in as the Director of the White House Religious Liberty Commission.
Since 2019, Mrs. Bush played a central role in advancing Napa Legal’s mission under the patronage of St. Thomas More.
During Mary Margaret’s tenure, Napa Legal enjoyed tremendous growth in programming:
- All Access grew from a handful of blog posts into a library with hundreds of legal resources that advance the missions of our faith-based users.
- The Faith and Freedom Index (FFI), only in its second edition, received national media attention from the likes of Fox News, Daily Wire, and Washington Times and was also recently awarded a prestigious Heritage Innovation Prize.
- The Good Counselor Project Fellowship, which will host its fourth annual Capstone Retreat this Fall, has provided intellectual, professional, and spiritual formation to more than 125 lawyers.
- In March 2025, we hosted our inaugural Good Counselor Project National Lawyers Conference with presentations by distinguished legal experts such as Judge Kyle Duncan, Jonathan Berry, and Napa Legal board member, Mark Rienzi.
- On July 23, 2025, we will host our second annual Nonprofit Summit, a daylong conference for faith-based nonprofit leaders and advisors.
Mary Margaret Bush contributed significantly to developing and advancing each of these efforts. We wish to thank her for her tireless service over the past 6 years and to congratulate her on her new role at the White House Religious Liberty Commission.
